For years, safaris have been notoriously exclusive and complicated to plan and book and sadly, the only people losing out are the travellers themselves. We’re on a mission to change this.

We’ve built technology that allows travellers to explore and build their own trip with the help and guidance of our safari experts.

We’re on an exciting and ambitious journey with a lot of challenges ahead - new destinations, markets and technology.

As Head of UX & Design, you’ll harness design thinking, user research and data to solve problems and design beautiful interfaces that will create experiences our guests will love. You’ll be responsible for every creative aspect of the company and work closely with our marketing team.

Combining a love for travel and a vision for creating a better experience, you will work alongside our founders as an integral part of the team to develop and grow Timbuktu.

What we're looking for in you

  • Experience designing digital products and user experiences. You have helped shape products that solve real problems, and that people use.

  • An appreciation of the entire product development process, from problem-solving, user research and testing, prototyping through to detailed UI and visual design.

  • Ability to design polished, high-fidelity mockups of your solutions using tools such as Figma and Sketch.

  • Ability to create interactive prototypes using tools like Figma, Framer, Invision, and Keynote.

  • Strong communication skills to help people across the company understand the rationale behind your proposals, and the complex nuances of design problems.

  • Motivated self-starter who can deeply collaborate with other disciplines including product management, engineering, research, and analytics.

  • A growth mindset. Willingness to own problems. Comfort with ambiguity. A desire to make things better. A balanced sense of optimism and humility.
