For years, trips to remote places have been notoriously exclusive and complicated to plan and book and sadly, the only people losing out are the travellers themselves. We’re on a mission to change this.

We’ve built technology that allows travellers to explore and build their own trip with the help and guidance of our travel experts.

We’re on an exciting and ambitious journey with a lot of challenges ahead - new destinations, markets and technology.

As Design & Image Editor, you’ll design beautiful marketing campaigns that will inspire our travellers. You’ll be responsible for sourcing, editing and maintaining our image library.

Combining a love for travel and a vision for creating a better experience, you will work alongside our content and marketing team as an integral part of the company to develop and grow Timbuktu.

This is a full-time, hybrid working position from our offices in Cape Town (2 days in office).

What we're looking for in you

  • 2 — 3 Years experience designing digital campaigns and creatives on a variety of channels including social media, paid social, paid search and display, and email marketing. Experience in web design is a bonus.

  • Experience sourcing and editing high-quality images. Photographic ability is a bonus.

  • Great organisational skills and ability to maintain a large image library.

  • Strong communication skills to help people across the company understand the rationale behind your proposals, and the complex nuances of design problems.

  • Motivated self-starter who can collaborate with other disciplines including product management, engineering, research, and analytics.

  • A growth mindset. Willingness to own problems. Comfort with ambiguity. A desire to make things better. A balanced sense of optimism and humility.
